Purpose of the Role


As an experienced Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Regional Operations Director. You will be pivotal in maintaining regulatory compliance, enhancing the quality of care, and driving financial and operational success across the care homes under your management. Your leadership will be key to aligning the operations with the organization’s vision and values, ensuring that each home not only meets but exceeds expectations.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership and effective management, ensuring the recruitment, training, and development of key roles across your sites. Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and resident-centered work culture that reflects the organization's core values.
  • Financial Performance: Take charge of financial and business performance across all sites, including budgeting, financial reporting, and identifying opportunities for business growth. Implement strategic initiatives to achieve and surpass financial targets.
  • Compliance: Ensure all homes adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement action plans to maintain compliance and manage risks, ensuring a safe and regulated environment for residents and staff.
  • Quality of Care: Champion continuous improvement in care quality, monitoring and evaluating care delivery processes to enhance resident well-being. Implement best practices to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment across all homes.
  • Relationship Building: Build and sustain strong relationships with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies. Address concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring satisfaction and trust in the care provided.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and care outcomes. Regularly prepare detailed reports for senior management and the Regional Operations Director to inform decision-making.
  • Training and Support: Identify and address training needs for managers to strengthen their leadership and operational skills. Provide ongoing mentoring and support to senior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.


Skills and Experience


  • Proven experience in managing operations within a care home or similar healthcare setting.
  • Exceptional people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver outstanding service.
  • Strong expertise in financial management, compliance, and regulatory requirements within the care home industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to drive business and operational success.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in elderly care and environmental quality.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.


Education and Qualifications


  • NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Full UK driving licence required.
