Charge Nurse
Location: Ystrad Rhondda
Salary: Up to £41,475.00
Hours: Full-time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

We are on the hunt for an exceptional Charge Nurse to join a dynamic and supportive team in a secure mental health facility. Our client is seeking an experienced nurse to bring energy, expertise, and leadership to this collaborative environment.
About the Role:
As a Charge Nurse, you will provide senior nursing leadership to the ward team, supporting the Ward Manager and Hospital Director. You'll play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care for males with complex mental health needs, serious mental illnesses, and challenging behaviors, aiming to maximize independence and reintegrate individuals into the community.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and support the nursing staff, serving as a role model and demonstrating core values.
- Participate in direct patient care, working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
- Deputize in the absence of the Ward Manager.
- Maintain high-quality nursing care and be adaptable to the changing needs of the service.
- Supervise other staff nurses, fostering a supportive and cohesive environment.
About You:
We are looking for a self-motivated leader with strong communication skills and relevant clinical experience, including:
- Active NMC PIN
- Mentorship Qualification (preferred)
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire others
- A genuine passion for quality service delivery and improvement
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in completing audits
- Experience in inpatient mental health settings
