The Role:
As Hospital Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the safe, effective, and person-centred running of the service. You will ensure that care delivery is compliant with regulatory standards, clinically led, and aligned with individual rehabilitation goals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and directing the multidisciplinary team to achieve the strategic and clinical goals of the service
- Driving continuous improvement in quality and care standards through performance management, clinical governance, and audit outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and CQC standards
- Managing staffing structures, supervision, training, and performance across clinical and non-clinical teams
- Overseeing budgetary planning, financial reporting, and contract obligations
- Representing the service at external meetings, marketing events, and commissioner reviews
- Leading the on-call management rota and supporting out-of-hours service coordination
- Ensuring service users are fully involved in assessment, care planning, reviews, and personal goal setting
- Promoting a safe, supportive, and homely environment that fosters independence and dignity
- Monitoring health and safety, equipment use, premises, and risk across the location
- Acting as a point of escalation for safeguarding, clinical, operational, or staffing issues
- Leading on change management, service development, and business continuity during the maternity cover period

About You:
We are looking for an experienced manager with clinical qualifications and strong leadership skills. You will have:
- A current live clinical registration (e.g. Nursing, AHP, etc.) with no restrictions to practice
- A Level 5 Diploma (QCF/NVQ) in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it
- Proven experience of managing residential or hospital-based services
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (CQC, Health and Social Care Act) and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to lead teams through supervision, training, appraisals, and disciplinary processes
- Sound financial management, audit familiarity, and ability to deliver services within budget
- High standards of interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal reporting
- Resilience, problem-solving capabilities, and a flexible approach to unsocial hours when required
- Commitment to embedding a service-user-led approach, valuing dignity, choice, and empowerment
- Experience in driving improvements based on audit findings, feedback, or regulatory requirements
