Role Overview


Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care and leading a dedicated team? As the Deputy Care Home Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth operation of our care home. Working alongside the Care Home Manager, you will lead by example, ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of personalized care while fostering a supportive environment for both residents and staff.


Key Responsibilities


  • Leadership: Act as the key support to the Care Home Manager in all aspects of daily operations, stepping in as required to ensure the seamless running of the home.
  • Team Supervision: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a committed team, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Quality Care: Oversee the delivery of individualized care plans, regularly assessing and adapting them to meet the evolving needs of our residents.
  • Resident Focus: Champion a person-centered approach, prioritizing the well-being, dignity, and happiness of our residents.
  • Safeguarding: Act as the primary contact for safeguarding concerns, ensuring strict adherence to policies and protocols to protect our residents.
  • Compliance: Ensure the home meets all health and safety, infection control, and CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards, consistently maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear and open communication with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Equip and train staff to handle emergencies effectively, ensuring all necessary equipment is maintained and operational.
  • Record Management: Maintain meticulous records related to care, compliance, and operational procedures, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Community Engagement: Promote an active and vibrant community within the home by encouraging resident participation in social activities and events.
  • Medication Management: Oversee the safe administration and management of medications, ensuring all protocols are followed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest developments in healthcare practices, advocating for and pursuing relevant training opportunities.


Skills and Experience


  • Proven experience as a Deputy Manager in a care home setting.
  • Deep understanding of person-centered care and the ability to meet the diverse needs of residents.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulatory reporting.
  • In-depth familiarity with CQC standards and the ability to maintain compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building strong relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Commitment to involving residents and their families in care planning and decision-making.
